So Friday is the last day of school. So far today, I was the only one who finished both my final projects. They're all due tomorrow but I thought I'd get them over with. I did a script for a children's animated short, and a short random one for business of scriptwriting. Both were adapted from books.
We have to pitch the business one tomorrow.
Here's the log line for mine: The day Hitler was born.
I adapted it from a Roald Dahl short story called Genesis and Catastrophe. It's actually a true story... I chose the shortest story (5 pages) I could find in his book, The Collected Short Stories of Roald Dahl. Love that book. I wrote the script in just 2 hours before going to school in the morning. Busted my balls just so that I wouldn't have to work on anything tonight.
I can't wait til school is over. I'm not even staying for the end of school party on Friday. There's no way.
Oh yeah, I decided I'd put an album together... with beats that I made and am about to make. I'll try to get it done by summer. I wish I could have a bunch of rappers on it... Come to think about it, I might try to get some Mozambican guys on a few, so it's not just an instrumental album. One guy from Toronto/Mississauga already asked me if he could rap on a beat I had on myspace, so he's probably working on that already. I have no idea who he is, but I think he's a pretty good rapper. And on top of everything, Fil said he would mix/engineer my album for free!
Speaking of Fil... he asked me if I wouldn't mind writing scripts for a reality TV show he's working on. I don't know what he means by that...but I think I'm going for it. He still needs to fill me in on all the details. (what a pun)
Booya.

Cold
It's cold in the basement. My room. Our place.
Crap. Heaters aren't working anymore because it's "spring" already.
Didn't sleep last night cuz I worked on my children's script, finished it and handed it in today. I adapted a children's book called "Hi! Fly Guy!" My teacher said he read a bit of it in class today, and said my writing's pretty good. I know that already though, old man. When it comes to writing, I'm on top of things, yo! I'm on point! You better recognize, old man. Just kidding. I'm not that full of myself. Not like that nutcase, Robyn who shows off her scripts, thinking it's the most amazing stuff ever...
He also commented on my previous homework, which was this series proposal I did for a children's show about a family adopting a robot. That's the first homework that we ever had to hand in, and he was surprised with my writing. He asked me if someone else did it for me... Come on. I might be the quiet one in class, but that doesn't mean I can't write.
Yup...I also suspect he's racist. Like no joking. And so does Jacob...
I watched Sweeney Todd on DVD the other night. Amazing. Wanna watch it again. Was listening to the songs online today with Nathan for like an hour.
We decided that from now on, every day will be muuuuusicaaal and that we'll sing every few minutes about whatever.
It'll be sweet.

Moved In
It's been a while since I posted. AHH! I just haven't had the time to figure out exactly what I wanted to post and when I wanted to post.
I've been living with Nathan and his brother Tyler for a while now. But I officially moved in yesterday. I rented a U-Haul truck and got Tyler to drive it. So they helped me move all my stuff.
Still haven't organized everything. Even they have to organize the stuff they used to keep in my room before I moved in. My room is very cosy though.
I'm meant to post a few videos up, but I haven't done that yet.
AHH
Oh yeah, on Saturday, we all went to Fred's birthday party, via Fil's apartment. There were 8 of us - me, Nate, Fil, Stephane, Jay, Shea, Stephanie and Jenevieve. That was cool. It was Stephanie's first time at Fred's apartment. I hope she enjoyed that even if she left early. The rest of us left about an hour or so later. We all took so many photos. It was the most fun I've had in a long time.
I'll post some pics up, I promise. There are some on Nathan's Facebook already.
I miss my fam. Still have to email Carla back. She wrote me a long email and it was shweet.
Can't wait til Mich comes in summer!! Love you.

Good Movies
What are movies?
Movies are made up of moving pictures. They usually tell stories. Some of them can be really great. Like these ones:
King of California
Smiley Face
A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints
The Air I Breathe
Movies are made up of moving pictures. They usually tell stories. Some of them can be really great. Like these ones:
King of CaliforniaI liked this movie because of the story. It's simple but really touching and funny at the same time. It's cute. The acting was great too. Mike D is awesome in this. He has awesome facial expressions and he can make you believe that he really is nuts. Woody-Wood Rachel is really good too. Want to watch a movie about a girl who works at McDonald's whose father just got out of the nut house and makes you want to believe that he knows where to find some lost treasure? Watch this. It's a fun movie.
Smiley FaceThis is a stoner movie about an actress who eats all her roommate's pot-laced cupcakes and ends up being high the whole day. All I have to say is that it has no plot, which makes it even a better stoner movie, because after all, stoners don't really have elaborate story lines in real life. What's good about this movie though is the acting and the silliness that emerges from all the problems that have to be faced. I have to say that I'm not really a fan of Anna Faris and I've always found her annoying, but she's actually bearable in this movie. Her portrayal of a stereotypical pothead is dead-on and her facial expressions are hilarious and cute. I like the parts where she's eating her roommate's cupcakes and when she's trying to reverse her car out into the driveway while extremely high, but can't. It's hilarious. The ending isn't what you'd normally expect, which I thought was great because it's different from other stoner movies. You might think that this movie promotes the use of marijuana, but it really doesn't. You'll see what I mean.
A Guide to Recognizing Your SaintsThis is about growing up and knowing who our "saints" really are. This movie takes place in 1986 in Astoria, New York. It's the story of Dito Montiel, who also directed the movie and based it off his autobiographical novel. The filming was great. Though we're introduced to tragic news in the beginning, the movie starts off as fun and lively and slowly turns emotional and sad, but in a very interesting way, then...how it ends, I will not tell you. You should watch it. Shia Labeouf does a great job in this. This is the first movie that I've heard him saying naughty things in. It's really surprising. Definitely not your typical Hollywood movie, which I love it for.
The Air I BreatheThe concept of the film is based on an ancient Chinese proverb that breaks life down into four emotional cornerstones - Happiness (played by Whitaker), Pleasure (Fraser), Sorrow (Gellar) and Love (Bacon). The proverb speaks of these emotions, not as isolated fragments of feelings, but as elements that make up the whole of the human existence. Each of the four main protagonists is based on one of the four emotions; and like the proverb, their paths are inextricably linked to each other. (Yes, I took this off of wikipedia because it's more interesting than I feel like writing it hehe) Anyway, it's great. Great concept, great filming. You'll definitely feel this movie. I'm not a fan of Sarah Michelle Gellar but she's actually bearable in this movie. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen the actors here as serious in their other movies.
Yup, I've been watching movies everyday, ever since the term ended and I handed in my final assignments (a series proposal and a Rent-A-Goalie spec script). School starts again on Wednesday. Yes, Wednesday, meaning school from now on will only be on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Yes, you got it, you genius - 3 days of school a week. Ain't it nuts?
Anyway, I gotta go get ready to spend the night at Nathan's. Him and his brother are a riot. It's just joke after joke after joke after joke. I don't know if I'll survive living with those guys. They're just hilarious together. Picture Nathan imitating, teasing, and making fun of his chubby and comically ridiculous (notice I didn't say "ridiculously comical" XD) year-older brother every 5 minutes. And I'm just there in hysterics. It's crazy. I laugh so much that it gets tiring. I have to film them.
Peace!
