Descending - Lamb Of God

This is a music video I directed for my Directing class.
It had to be filmed in a Michael Bay style (Bad Boys, Bad Boys 2, The Rock, Pearl Harbor), with dialogue from Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction.
Starring some of my friends!
It was fun. We filmed it here at the apartment, and just outside.

Random facts:

-Some people came later than planned, so unfortunately there was no sunlight for the rest of the video after the opening sequence.
-I got a little allergy from Ed's smoke.
-Because someone forgot to bring some, I had to buy the guns we used, from the convenience store a block away.
-My hands and Tim's froze when we were filming him outside, running in the snow.
-When Yara and Ed were being filmed in their scene, there were people in the back, watching TV.
-When Ed was on the phone, he was cursing really loud, as I told him he had to be angry there...I have hilarious footage of that.
-Ed is watching The Simpsons on the TV.
-There are two missing lines intended for the end, because...
-There is missing footage, which is with Ed getting shot, falling to the floor and smearing ketchup on his neck as blood. I thought I recorded that, but it turned out I didn't.
-One of the takes we did when Stefano had to open and run through the door, a guy showed up behind it. When I first watched that on the tape before editing, I found it hilarious.
-I edited it alone.
-Some of the shots of Yara are mirrored perspectives. I had to flip them because it didn't make sense when I had to cut between her and Ed talking. It looked like they weren't facing each other.
-Yara and Ed had their scripts in front of them on the table.
-It was hard filming Tim in the elevator because people kept coming in.
-It was harder trying to film him coming out and meeting Stefano in the hallway.
-The song was too short (so I guess it was alright that I had missing footage, otherwise it would have been hard to fit it all into the song).
-We all went to Pizza Pizza after filming...which was around 8:30 pm.
-Lamb Of God rules.
-My teacher liked my project.

Late Night Crap

WUZZAH WUZZAH?

Okay. What the hell was that..? Must be a sign of boredom...It's like 3 AM.

Anyway, it's cold as shit here in Toronto. Filming my Royale With Cheese project in about 14 hours. Making a music video out of it. Too tired to go through the details with anyone right now, but... I'm obviously hoping it turns out great. I have the whole vision in my head. Been running it over and over again.

Actually, it's two projects I have to shoot. Same dialogue, different concepts.

Again, no details. I know I'm sounding like some ticked off spokesperson - ''No comments! No comments!"

But yeah. Seriously. I dunno, it's been hectic the last 2 days. Wuz like this last week too. Hope it's nothing I have to get used to. It's already taking most of my time, and of course I need time for myself... To do whatever it is I usually do when I'm not filming. I'm kinda losing touch with personal things.

On a final note, I need that sweetness-ness...ness. Wrap me around it. Need less of this overtime crap.

Back To School

So, back to school. Only got morning classes now. So that's Directing with our nemesis teacher, Fred. Tired of him already. Why can't he be one of the teachers that are gone after every term?
Anyway, class starts from 10 to 12:30 again. And then we got Business of Film like once a week startin on the 27th. Got lots of projects to do though, in Directing class. No final exam which is great, but we'll get marked on our overall performance.

So yeah, decided to go with the Editing workshop and the Advanced Lighting workshop (with Fred, unfortunately). And then next term, I'm gonna take Sound Editing with Pro-tools! It's weird though, we have workshops on the weekends too...And then one on our day off, Mondays. Bastards.

Should be great though. More time to balance everything, what with less classes.

Anyway, back to breakfast and then catchin the bus in 30 mins.

Resolution, Resolucion

I was asked again last night what my new year's resolutions were, but I wasn't really sure what to say.

So I thought them up and this is what I came up with:

My New Year's Resolutions

- read the news [CNN.com]
- do pushups every night (or try to)
- sketch as often as possible
- try to be organized (again)
- limit my expenses
- be more responsible (not so good at this)
- stop oversleeping and missing the morning class
- clean my room often
- study every night for at least 1 hour (hehe)
- not cut my hair
- be less lazy (not so good at this either)

2007

So it's 2007. It's gonna be a crazy year. Even if we entered the gates with the least of expectations...it's undoubtedly going to be a huge year. At least for me, on many levels. Especially now that I'm getting closer to finishing my film production course. You know, there's a lot of things to consider, a lot to think about. There's a lot to plan out. There's a lot to work on...

I feel like it's gonna be that year where you gotta bring out the best in yourself, no matter what...and at the same time, pull up everybody around you. It's time to wake up...

I wanna feel like I ended up with the right thing...
